An absolute downpour
Opening up the Heavens and letting it rip;
The rain comes gushing down,
Rolling and flowing,
Striking and slipping,
Sinking into an earth that holds her hands out merrily.
A red umbrella breaks the grey. People
dash and dart, ducking into shelter,
the water rolling off of shiny damp skin, hair limp,
and clothes clinging
Then the lightning splits the sky, the thunder rumbles with wild joy.
And here I sit, cup of chai and book in hand,
enjoying a lusty summer storm.
